Who We Are
If you're reading this website you probably already know who we are, but just in case you're new here, I'm Emily Elizabeth Reo and that over there (currently swimming in Crystal Lake or at Anna's eating a burrito) is Julian Saltz Fader. If you happened to stumble across this URL by accident, please keep moving. Nothing to see here.
We are getting married because we love each other a lot and get along well most of the time and we want to hang out when we're old. We also like a lot of the same things, like music, animals (cats the most), eating food, recording and mixing in Logic Pro X, taking long bike rides, mid-tier sedans from the early 2000s, nature, and more. It all started with a show at Middlesex in 2013, Julian buying various items from me between 2014-2016 (I get them all back now), and a "complex courtship", eventually followed by 5 years of engagement. 9 years later, here we are!
Schedule of Events
We will be hosting wedding festivities from October 7-9 of the year 2026 AD, with a few extra opportunities to hang in the days following. Here is an outline of the plan as it stands now, which is subject to change:
October 7, 2026 (Wednesday)
Pre-wedding dinner at Olivia's Bistro in Newton, MA will commence at 7:15 PM sharp. The address is 136 Adams St, Newton, MA 02458. There is a vegan menu available, but if you have other dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance and we'll make sure you're taken care of.If you'll be staying at our VRBO, check-in will be after 4 PM. We'll be checking into the house before dinner to get settled, and you are welcome to join.
October 8, 2026 (Thursday)
Our wedding day (maybe)! We're aiming to have a very small ceremony in the early afternoon, weather permitting. Thankfully, it never rains in Boston, but to be extra prepared, we've factored in a rain date (see below). The ceremony will take place either in Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain at a specific picturesque spot of our choosing (TBA) or possibly in our backyard, which is close to the Arboretum, so you won't even notice a difference.After the ceremony, we'll eat cake and have a BBQ, either in our backyard (preferred), or at the VRBO we've booked nearby if we can't get our shit together and buy a grill before October (we just moved in and there is a lot going on right now).
October 9, 2026 (Friday)
A nice little brunch to wrap things up and because we love to eat food. Location will either be at the VRBO or at a restaurant, TBD. "Watch this space" for more specifics in the coming weeks.After brunch, you are free to do whatever you want! You are always free to do whatever you want because you have free will, but scheduling-wise, there will be nothing planned for this evening. We encourage you to "explore the space" (Boston), and we've listed some of our favorite things to do here.
Important!
October 9 will be our rain date, so if it does rain on October 8, we'll swap activities for the two days. This means if it rains, October 8 will become our brunch + free will day and October 9 will be our ceremony + BBQ day. We ask that you remain available through the evening of October 9 in case this happens so you can join us for all festivities!
Post-Wedding Hangs: October 10-12, 2026
Julian and Sam will be running the Cape Cod marathon for some reason on October 11, so we're going to spend the weekend after the wedding on the Cape. Anyone is welcome to come hang if you're not sick of us yet, but we rented a smaller place for this trip, so just let us know if you plan to come and need a place to stay so we can make sure we can accommodate (or help you find something else). We'll be staying in Mashpee, checking in the afternoon of the 10th, and checking out the morning of the 13th.What To Wear
We truly do not care what you wear and want you to be comfortable, but we've received lots of questions about this, so we're happy to invent an imaginary dress code for you to follow. Think anywhere between business casual and cocktail party. More than jeans, less than a suit. Pants, skirts, dresses, no ballroom gowns please.
I'm going to wear a white dress of some sort (I know, not very original), but nothing long or particularly fancy. Julian may wear a suit or something a little more casual, to be determined. We encourage you to not be more dressed up than we are because people could get confused about who the ceremony is for and the wrong people might end up getting married by mistake.

There may also be a photographer present during the ceremony if we book someone in time (otherwise, guess who our photographers will be!!! ha ha ha)

Julian and I will also be staying at this VRBO despite living nearby because I don't want to feed cats or scoop any litterboxes during this 3 day period.

Getting Around
Boston has good public transit, including a small but reliable subway system (called the T) and lots of buses. There is also a commuter rail that takes you to the 'burbs. We have 1 (one) car and are happy to give rides, but unfortunately cannot fit all 13 of you safely or comfortably. We recommend a combo of transit, Uber/Lyft, and carpooling when possible.
Boston is also very bike-friendly, and we have 4 (four) bikes that you can borrow from us if you'd like. If you choose to bike, we can recommend lots of protected routes and pretty bike paths. Let us know ahead of time and we'll make sure we have enough helmets and the bikes are ready for you.

Where is "Boston"? Sounds Fake
Boston is a real city in the Northeast section of USA, in a region called "New (And Improved) England". We live in a neighborhood called "Jamaica Plain", which is where the Arboretum and the VRBO are located. It is a nice area with lots of green space and is mostly comprised of Gen X lesbians.
